Beaconstac Extension

Step 1

Get started with the Premium plan on Beaconstac.

If you are already a Beaconstac customer,
If you are a Premium, Reseller or Whitelabel customer, you can skip step 1 and directly proceed to the next step.

If you are a Basic customer, you need to upgrade your plan to access beacon app building extension.

If you are not a Beaconstac customer,
Get started with the Premium plan, select beacons of your choice (long-range/ pocket/ USB/ indoor/ outdoor/ keychain) and checkout to step 2.

Step 2

Choose a pricing plan on Shoutem

Android only
Choose this plan if you wish to create only an Android app. The plan includes Extension Marketplace, CMS, developers access, automated app publishing, and push notifications.

Standard
To create apps for both the Google Play and Apple’s App Store, select this plan. The plan adds support for iOS, Shoutem app review, analytics, notification center, and user management.

Professional
This plan includes advanced features such as data importers and advanced Shoutem extensions like Social and Loyalty.

Step 3

Creating an app

There are 2 options you can choose from:

A template:

  • Template

    1. Click on Create a Small business app

    2. Choose your Style
      Select a preset design for your app. This design can also be customized later as per your needs.
    3. Choose your Navigation (Menu) Style
      How your customers navigate their way through your app will be decided by this. You can stick with the preset style or experiment later.
    4. Create your basic app and customize the features/themes if needed.
    5. Integrate proximity triggered notifications
      Click on Extensions on the left-hand panel and click on + to search for Beaconstac on the Extension Marketplace.
    6. Retrieve your Developer Token and Organization ID from the Beaconstac dashboard
      You will need these in the next step:

      1. Login to the Beaconstac dashboard
      2. Click on your account name and select Account
      3. Developer Token is available under Account Details and Organization ID is available under Organizations. Choose the Organization that you wish to build an app for and select the corresponding ID.
    7. Enter your credentials in your Shoutem project and hit Save
      Once you add the Beaconstac extension, it will be available under Settings. Here you will be asked to enter your credentials – Developer Token and Organization ID.

You can now publish your beacon-enabled app on the App Store or Google Play or both.

  • New blank app

    1. Once you click on the Create a blank app, you will see the screen below
    2. Start customizing your app
      You can now add screens and icons, experiment with navigation styles, choose the colors to create a customized app. Shoutem has a host of customizations available for the app theme as well. Play around with various elements to create an amazing app.
    3. Add proximity-triggered notification capability
      Click on Extensions on the left-hand panel and click on + to search for Beaconstac on the Extension Marketplace.
    4. Retrieve your Developer Token and Organization ID from the Beaconstac dashboard.
      You will need these in the next step:

      1. Login to the Beaconstac dashboard
      2. Click on your account name and select Account

        Token is available under Account Details and Organization ID is available under Organizations. Choose the Organization that you wish to build an app for and select the corresponding ID.
